I’m interviewing Amanda Meuwissen today, author of gay romance novel “Changeling”. Enjoy the interview!

Author Interview

1) Please tell us about yourself.

I am a very soon to be 30-year-old wife and mother of two cats. I live in Minneapolis, MN, where I work full time downtown for a digital marketing company. I am also the Managing Editor for episodic serialized network and indie publisher BigWorldNetwork.com, through which my books have also been published. I’m a huge geek, often playing video games, and devouring TV shows and movies that have anything to do with sci-fi, fantasy, and the supernatural. I regularly cosplay and attend comic conventions, and am known for my crazy hair and colorful tattoos.

2) Tell us about your book.

There are a few things I almost always seem to write about. The Other, gay romance, and the idea that there is no such thing as pure evil or pure good; we always get to choose who and what we are. The Incubus Saga is all of that and more, told through Nathan Grier, a seemingly normal human surrounded by the supernatural: his brother Jim, a changeling; his eventual lover Sasha, an incubus; and many other forces raging against him as a powerful dark sidhe strives to claim his soul. It’s about adventure, and family, and realizing who you are and your potential, and that loving someone unexpected doesn’t have to be the end of the world. Urban fantasy is my anti-drug, and when you can throw some erotic scenes in as well, mixed with deep love, of course, all the better.

3) What inspired you to write Changeling?

Changeling is the sequel to Incubus, the second book in the trilogy The Incubus Saga, which as a whole was inspired by my love of the TV show Supernatural and my ever-abiding desire to give the world a few more bisexual heroes. My love affair with fae lore and Arthurian Legend finds a home here as well, and the idea I first loved when I was watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer in my younger years that maybe there exists a fantastical world around us already, we just don’t know it.

4) How many hours do you write per week?

10+? I have a rule to write every day, even if only a few lines.

5) If you could meet three authors, which authors would you choose?

Neil Gaiman, Laurell K Hamilton, Sergei Lukyanenko

6) What are you working on at the moment?

Book 3 in The Incubus Saga: Sidhe, which will be out next year. Then on to a YA GLBT vampire story I’m very excited to get to.

Changeling

Changling_cover_frontTitle: Changeling

Author: Amanda Meuwissen

Genre: Gay Paranormal Romance

Nathan Grier’s dark fae bounty looms overhead. As he faces the very real threat of becoming a slave to the bounty’s owner, his brother Jim uses his changeling abilities more and more trying to save him. Every changeling throughout history turns evil once their powers manifest, meaning time may be running out for both of them as Jim nears True Awakening.

Fae hunter and incubus, Sasha Kelly, is prophesized to save Nathan, but while Nathan has embraced his feelings for the other man, he fears their time together will be cut short—either from his impending fate…or Jim’s.

Info about Incubus (first book)

Incubus_cover_FRONTNathan only ever wanted a normal life, but for him, life, family, and love are anything but normal.

On the other side of the Veil, dark and light fae exist outside the knowledge of most humans. Nathan Grier was born human, but his twin brother Jim is a changeling. On the run since they were children, time for both of them is running out. Turning to fae hunter Sasha Kelly for help, Nathan must soon face his growing feelings for the other man while trying to save himself and his brother from a fate worse than death.
