This has got to be the most original book I’ve read all year. Meriwether Lewis is a ghost, who’s been stuck in Nowhere since his mysterious death two centuries ago. If he wants redemption, then he has to help nine-year-old Emmaline Cagney find her father in Nashville. The path to Nashville runs along the Natchez Trace, past his own grave, where he might find out more about his death and the circumstances surrounding it.
Great pacing, great writing, and adorable characters. Em is amazing. I loved her from start to end. Even the Judge was pretty intriguing, although he’s the bad guy. He’s definitely no one-dimensional villain, that’s for sure.
