I’m hosting an interview with J.A. Lynch, author of erotica novella “A Dance for Fools”. Enjoy the interview!
1) Please tell us about yourself.
I am a married mother of five rather crazy, but totally amazing children. I live in Northern Ireland, where I love the simple things in life, but I do have a thing for shoes. I read and write passionately, and have wanted to write for as long as I can remember. It’s like oxygen to me.
2) Tell us about your book.
A Dance for Fools, is the second part in my four part mini-series that tells the story of Bianka, a vampire who feels trapped by her existence, and wants nothing more than to roam the earth, feed and partake in whatever takes her fancy, the only problem is, she is the courtesan to the Rose, the keeper of the Oracle. Long story short. Bianka entraps herself in her own living nightmare, and instead of the freedom she so desperately craves, she sees out her days as the new keeper of the Oracle.
A Dance for Fools see’s Bianka’s existence pushed to boundaries she never knew existed, and she’s hell bent on revenge for her confinement and concocts an evil plan to prove her worth to the King, who openly despises her. With few friends, she uses her wit and senses to create the ultimate payback, but everything has a price, right?
3) What inspired you to write Dance for Fools?
I had always danced around the thought of writing an erotic book, but never had the guts or time. August 2012 saw me realise that fantasy and I began working on The Rose Saga. I am a huge lover and admirer of vampire fiction, but my inspiration comes from the like’s of Polidori, Byron and Stoker. Whilst I do have an appreciation of modern vampire literature, I do however adore the elements of the classics.
4) How many hours per week do you spend writing?
I write 5 days a week full-time. It is my job. It pays the bills and on average I spend at least seven hours a day in my office. So probably around 30 hours a week (and that’s not taking into consideration promotion, a whole other ball game)
5) If you could meet three authors, which authors would you choose?
Oh my gosh, it would be Stephen King, James Patterson and Charlaine Harris (who happens to follow me on twitter 😉 )
6) What are you working on at the moment?
At the moment I am finishing off my first adult thriller, ‘Stone Cold’, and am in first draft status with Under the Burning Sun, book #3 in the Rose Saga.
A Dance for Fools
Author: J.A Lynch
Bianka, a vampire with an insatiable thirst and desire for the body unlocked Pandora’s box when she disposed of Iona, and instead of getting the freedom she desired, she condemned herself to a curse.
With her new found fate as the Rose, comes the responsibility of choosing her own courtesan and fulfilling her pledge to Artemis and the Oracle, but Bianka is hell bent on revenge, and if she can’t have her freedom then at least she can play the King and his court for fools.
Of course, nothing is never simple, and as Bianka puts all her energies into revenge, she doesn’t see the ensuing chaos that she unleashes.
A dance for fools is only the beginning of the end…
