Book Review The Playmaker

Playmaker Front SmallTitle: The Playmaker

Author: Dakota Madison

Genre: Contemporary Romance / New Adult Romance / Sports Romance

Purchase: Amazon

Kian Kavanagh, Mr. Fire on Ice, has just been called up to play hockey for the NHL’s new expansion team in Seattle. Finally playing in the NHL is a dream come true…except for one thing. Kian has to leave Northern Arizona and the love of his life, Taylor Thompson, to pursue his dream.

Taylor Thompson thinks she’s got life figured out. She’ll finish her final semester of college then move to Seattle to attend graduate school and be with her man. Until one fateful night when Taylor’s world is complete shattered and everything she’s ever wanted—everything she’s ever hoped for—is called into question.

Will Kian’s love be enough to help put Taylor’s shattered world back together again or will tragedy tear them apart?

Kian and Taylor are back in another heart-warming adventure. Kian is now playing in first league, and Taylor is still studying, which means they don’t get to see each other often. But they’re always on each other’s mind though.

Taylor struggles with what she wants in life – the degree she’s always dreamt of, or Kian, or both – and he struggles with the same question – hockey, Taylor, or both? Taylor’s parents still aren’t very fond of him, even though her sister Zelda is, and her best friend Kyle has come around as well.

Then something terrible happens to Taylor, and her entire world is turned upside down. She distances herself from Kian, and he wants nothing more than to talk to her and be close to her. Can the two lovers reunite, or will they be distanced forever?

This book was a lot more exciting than the first one, and that one already gave me a near heart attack! The characters grew, their relationship grew, and their bond changes. They were constantly developing and changing. The writing was great, and the plot was intriguing.

Another great read for romance fans, and if you’ve read the first book, you certainly have to read this one as well.
