Author Interview with Jessica Gibson

I’m hosting an interview today from fellow paranormal romance author Jessica Gibson. Jessica writes about witches and magic and is currently promoting her paranormal romance novel “Chasing The Witch”.

Thanks for appearing on my blog, Jessica!

1) Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Well, I’m a wife, mother, author, blogger, and online event planner….I know, a lot of hats to wear lol. But the nice thing is that I love all the things I’m blessed enough to call my jobs.

2) How did you come up with the inspiration for Mark of the Witch and Chasing The Witch?

I’ve always loved Paranormal books, so when I decided to start writing, the Boston Witches story just popped out.

3) Who was your favorite character to write about?

In book 1 it was totally Jilly because she came so easy to me, but book 2 would be Caroline or Patrick. They both had such a unique voice.

4) Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

Keep at it! Don’t stop. It’s so easy to get discouraged, but it will all be worth it in the end. Also, invest in a good editor and cover artist, those will make or break your book.

5) If you could meet up with three authors (dead or alive) which authors would you choose?

Diana Gabaldon because I adore her Outlander series, Jeaniene Frost because her Night Huntress series is genius, and finally Andrea DiGiglio because it wouldbe nice to talk to her in person for once lol.

6) Since your book is about witches, I had to ask this one! What’s your favorite witchy book?  Favorite witchy book?

Hmmm…well, I love the Gwen Sparks series by Stephanie Nelson, they are a ton of fun.

7) What’s your favorite witchy TV series?

I was always a fan of Bewitched, I used to watch it on Nick at Night with my mom when I was little.

8) Do you have a work in progress right now? Any upcoming books?

Too many lol. I have a YA coming out soon called Haunted U. Book 2 in the Blood Ties series will hopefully be out in March, and Book 3 in the Boston Witches series I hope will be out in late summer/early fall.

Thanks for answering my questions, Jessica!

154629_10151235773585896_198368657_nJessica Gibson is a recovering bookaholic, she’s down from four books a week to a more reasonable one. It was that love of words and creativity that made her dream about writing her first book. Jessica and Matt live in Southern California and have a serious addiction to reality tv shows like Pawn Stars and American Restoration. They have one son and hope to add to the family in the near future.

Aside from writing, she runs an online event planning business called the Release Day Diva. In addition to novels, Jessica writes and maintains the blog Book on the Bright Side. Keep up with Jessica and her latest releases and events on her blog.
